Welcome to the Lingfield Youth Band web site.
Lingfield Youth Band was formed in May 2004, we have 3 teachers Richard, Julie and Andrew.We have 20 members from beginners to grade 6 standard. We meet on Thursay evenings at 6.30pm. The band room is located at the rear of the the Greyhound Pub in Lingfield high street.Lingfield is near East Grinstead,Horley, Crawley and Gatwick,on the borders of Surrey Sussex and Kent .We charge £1 a week (10 weeks/term)which cover us for running the band, we also supply a instrument and music in that price! We are a silver band which are sometimes called brass band. You can learn Cornet, Horn, Baratone, Euphonium, Trombone or Tuba.

Musical Opportunities for Brass Players in Lingfield
If you can not play a instrument we will be happy to teach you, but if you can play already we have so really good quality new instruments to lend, it is a great friendly group to join.
This March 2009 we have been celebrating receiving a grant for £10,000 from the National Lottery distributed by Awards for All.
The band will use the money to buy new instruments which will give access the more members.
We would like to thank the National lottery for their continued support, without this we would not be able to offer the fun to so many people.

It meets between 6.30 and 7.30pm every Thursday evening in the Lingfield Silver Band Bandroom and provides a wonderful opportunity to learn an instrument and to take part in group music making, You can learn Cornet, Horn, Baratone, Euphonium, Trombone or Tuba.
All players whatever their standard will have a chance to group perform in front of an audience and will be given the opportunity to hear and aspire to some star performances from some of the senior band soloists.
The Youth Band, under its Director Richard Weller, has been very fortunate to have been awarded Lottery funding and other grants from local businesses. This means it has been able to buy instruments of a high standard which are available for loan. The band has also benefited form the experience of some of the players form the senior band who help with coaching the various brass instruments that make up the Youth Band.Lingfield is situated in Lingfield near East Grinstead, Crawley, Holey, Redhill, Edenbridge.(Lingfield is not far from Forest row ,Blindley heath, Crowhurst, South Godstone,Smallfield ). sussex and surrey and kent boarder We are on the boarder of West sussex, Sussex,Surrey and Kent east sussex .We are a silver band sometimes called brass band music for children learning music. learning trumpet is simular to learning cornet.

Lingfield Youth Band has is now back in action after the summer holidays. Now in its second year of operation the Lingfield Youth Band is a Brass Band made up of players young and not so young. It meets between 6.30 and 7.30pm every Thursday evening in the Lingfield Silver Band Bandroom and provides a wonderful opportunity to learn an instrument and to take part in-group music making.
The Youth Band has already taken part in performances in Lingfield & Dormansland Community centre and is currently hard at work in readiness for Christmas performances including the Lingfield Silver Band annual Christmas concert (see announcement below). This term sees a new venture with a solo and duet evening planned for the beginning of December.
